Born in Moscow in 1986 into a family of artists, Polina Demidova found her artistic calling during her studies in the prestigious Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts & Industry, from which she graduated in 2010. She has then dedicated herself entirely to the creation of "drawing & collages", a unique painting technique developed by her in the early 2000s.
In 2008, Polina moved to Switzerland. Nowadays she is a Swiss mixed media artist, based in the picturesque lakeside city of Geneva, where she started her journey of finding her signature artistic style and establishing herself in the local and global art arena. Carrying the “Swiss made” seal, she embodies the local craftsmanship, quality and aesthetics. Polina has also been teaching as the Professor of Arts at the Open Gymnasium of Geneva since 2020.
Over the past 13 years of her career run, Polina has participated in more than 10 individual and 30 collective exhibitions and gallery expositions across Switzerland, France, Italy and Russia, as well as four solo exhibitions in Geneva. Her paintings can be found in many private collections around the world.
As one of her most notable achievements, Polina participated and won the highest award as part of the “Palette Carougeoise” Geneva regional artist union competition in 2012, the first place in the portrait contest organized by the Geneva gallery “Brachard” in 2015, and she took part in the Swiss Confederation-supported artistic exhibition in the historical meadows of Grütli, and many more.
Aside from her activity of creating inspired paintings for exhibitions or commissioned portraits, Polina Demidova also hosts art classes for children and adults. Being a mother of two young girls, Polina Demidova is particularly keen on transmitting her art and vision to the next generations.
Currently Polina is looking for new challenges and opportunities for expanding her artistic horizons such as:
- continuing to work on commission for private clients (portraits of persons, kids, animals, landscapes, etc.)
- exhibitions in new unexplored markets
- working with corporate clients in creation of artistic objects
- art placements in public or government owned collections, and
- special edition collections and reproductions.
